I’m a writer, producer, journalist, director and filmmaking teacher… I’ve also taught British swear words to corporate employees in Buenos Aires and spent the summer I turned 19 working on a yacht in Ibiza.

The majority of my work involves telling stories—or helping others tell theirs—whether in print or on screen. Endlessly curious, I’m never happier than when stepping off a plane in an unfamiliar place, interviewing an interesting ‘character’ or wading into a pile of research material.

I’ve developed and produced documentaries for BBC Storyville, Channel 4, Discovery, National Geographic and others, including the RTS, Bafta and Grierson nominated My Dead Body, described by the Telegraph as ‘a remarkable piece of television’.

I’ve also produced fiction, non-fiction—and genre-crossing—films that have been selected for international film festivals (SXSW, BFI London Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival).

My non-fiction writing has been published in The Guardian, Wellcome Collection’s ‘Stories’, Backstage and others. I also write screenplays and short stories, often (for reasons best kept for my therapist) about women who want to escape their lives.

Originally from Newcastle, I now call London home. In my twenties, I spent a year in Mexico City and Buenos Aires and am currently plotting a future move to sunnier climes, though the exact location is still TBC.

I love weird history, unconventional women, Latin American culture, wild places, Pedro Almodóvar, imagining my cat’s inner monologue and the view from above.
